Campus Numeria: technological innovation supporting pedagogical innovation
The official inauguration of Campus Numeria on 11 June 2026 marks an important milestone in the development of new spaces dedicated to digital education. Located within the Futuroscope site, the campus aims to support pupils, teachers, families and professionals in understanding digital issues and developing the skills needed to thrive in an ever-evolving technological environment.
One of Campus Numeria's distinctive features is its strong focus on immersive technologies. Virtual reality, augmented reality and a range of experimental environments are central components of the learning experience offered to visitors. These technologies make it possible to create learning situations that would be difficult to reproduce in a traditional classroom setting, opening up new opportunities to explore, simulate and better understand complex phenomena. However, immersive technologies are not viewed as an end in themselves, but rather as tools designed to support clearly defined educational objectives.

In this way, Campus Numeria contributes to the development of digital literacy among teachers, education leaders, pupils and families, providing information and learning experiences tailored to the needs and levels of each audience. The aim is not simply to develop competent users of technology, but also to foster informed citizens who are able to exercise critical judgement and make well-informed decisions.
This ambition is accompanied by a strong commitment to ethical considerations. Campus Numeria has established an independent Ethics Committee whose role is to support the development of the project and provide guidance on the use of digital and immersive technologies. Its work addresses a range of issues, including the pedagogical and scientific quality of the learning pathways, data protection, inclusion, equity of access, users' wellbeing, the prevention of risks associated with screen use, and the protection of children's rights. At a time when artificial intelligence and immersive technologies are playing an increasingly important role in education, this approach helps to build trust and ensure that technological innovation remains aligned with the public interest.
