Digital Inclusion – FCL Open Day 2024

Every student should have the opportunity to participate digitally, and that's what we are trying to achieve. We are convinced that the Future Classroom Lab can add significant value to this goal.

On April 30, 2024, as FCL ambassadors, we organised a full day dedicated to digital inclusion. This event took place at the Future Classroom Lab in Brussels with the help of several speakers.

Teachers, care coordinators, and learning supporters were invited to learn, research, and experiment in the Future Classroom Lab. They had the opportunity to empower themselves from various perspectives and return to their schools with tips and inspiration.

Teachers engaged with the Microsoft and Google environments and explored applications that support students. They also demonstrated and tested built-in features designed to enhance the learning experience for all students. We emphasized that these adjustments can benefit every learner.

We collaboratively considered pedagogical, didactic, and responsible use of technology. When does a device or tool truly add value? How can we make reasonable adjustments in teaching using ICT? How can we use a device when a student is absent or unable to attend school for an extended period? To address these questions, representatives from vzw Eureka and Bednet shared their experiences and insights.

During one part of the day in the FCL, participants discussed learning spaces, pedagogy, and the use of media devices. Several organisations guided the exploration of various materials, whether present or not in the Future Classroom Lab.

As FCL ambassadors, we were delighted to open our doors and welcome many interested parties for a day of learning.
