INNOVATIVE CLASSROOMS FEATURED AT THE 2ND ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS’ CONFERENCE

The 2nd English Language Teachers’ Conference: Innovation and Technology in English Language Education was held in Bursa, Türkiye, on 23–24 September 2026. Organised in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education’s Directorate General for Innovation and Educational Technologies (YEĞİTEK), the British Council and the Sabancı Foundation, the conference brought together English language teachers to explore innovative approaches and educational technologies.

As part of the event, a demonstration classroom was set up to introduce participants to the Innovative Classroom model through hands-on experiences. The space showcased how flexible furniture, digital technologies and pedagogical approaches can work together to support active and collaborative learning, in line with the principles of the Future Classroom Lab (FCL) approach.

Students from Bursa International Murat Hüdavendigar Anatolian Imam Hatip High School demonstrated a sample lesson, showing how technology can be naturally integrated into classroom practice.

Participants also took part in practical English language activities involving robotics, coding, 3D printing and game-based assessment, exploring new ways to make language learning more engaging and interactive.

The demonstration classroom attracted considerable interest from teachers, students and educational leaders throughout the event. The activities provided practical examples of how Innovative Classrooms can support student-centred learning and inspire teachers to develop technology-enhanced learning experiences in their own classrooms.
