Gudde Moien, Hello, Guten Tag, Bonjour!

These are just a few of the languages you'll regularly hear in our small yet vibrant country of Luxembourg. We're Sarah Monfils and Chris Krier, and we're thrilled to have recently joined the Future Classroom Lab (FCL) Ambassador team, proudly representing Luxembourg.

For our first blog entry, we'd like to introduce ourselves and share an exciting project that's currently capturing much of our attention: the "F.use (Future Space for Education)."

Initiated by IFEN (Institut de Formation de l’Éducation Nationale), Luxembourg's national institute for teacher training, the F.use project serves as an innovation lab aimed at exploring, experimenting with, and promoting pedagogical innovation. Inspired by the essential 21st-century skills, our ambition is to cultivate an educational community that's vibrant, creative, and reflective, capable of addressing tomorrow's educational challenges today.

Rooted deeply in core values such as openness, respect, and collaboration, F.use emphasizes modularity, horizontal teamwork, and sustainability in all its initiatives. Some of our traditional classrooms at IFEN's two locations have been transformed into flexible, interactive spaces that foster innovative teaching methods.

At Belval, in Luxembourg’s dynamic south, our focus lies primarily on pedagogical methodologies, such as game-based learning and computational thinking. Meanwhile, at our central Walferdange site, we are currently reimagining the conventional library, turning it into an inspiring cultural and educational hub.

We can't wait to share more insights and updates from the F.use project with you soon!

Äddi,

Sarah & Chris
