Oviedo adds a new FCL belonging to the Spanish Aula del Futuro network for teachers training

A brand new Aula del Futuro was launched on February 12th in Oviedo (Asturias). It became the thirteenth to be opened, joining the twelve existing Future Clasroom Labs already in operaton, which have collectively trained around 8.700 individuals over the last 2024.

This initiative is a key element of a larger project spearheaded by the National Institute of Education and Technologies, in partnership with autonomous communities, private companies, and educational institutions.

With this new space, teachers in the region will be able to receive training on the project and benefit from the technological resources the space offers.

Without a doubt, this will actively contribute to the improvement of the entire education system within the country.

Nano Open Online Course

In the first quarter of the year, the Aula del Futuro project, offered through INTEF’s online training platform, organizes a Nano Open Online Course (NOOC) lasting 3 hours.

This course is open to all teachers, students, or anyone involved in education who is interested in learning about the core principles behind the Aula del Futuro model.

The second edition of this training, titled 'Aula del Futuro: primeros pasos,' has been a complete success in terms of participation. Over 800 attendees from various countries have had the opportunity to learn about the project and the key aspects of its implementation.

Three new courses in SPOOC format

Recently, we have launched three courses in SPOOC (Self-Paced Open Online Course) format, which allow for learning at the student's own pace.

The three courses cover different aspects of the project, providing not only an understanding of the origin and key elements of implementation but also offering the opportunity to explore the development of activities and learning environments.

Open house events

During this year, we have planned a series of open days on various topics:

• First steps in the Aula del Futuro project.

• DigiCraft project with Vodafone Foundation and the use of AI.

• Virtual and augmented reality.

• Robotics and computational thinking.

• Minecraft in education.

The first two have taken place between January and February and have been a resounding success in terms of participation.

The rest of the events are planned until the end of the year, and we are confident that they will be a great opportunity for learning on the project as well as networking for the attendees.

Teacher training across the autonomous communities

Parallel to this, the different autonomous communities across the country offer training on the Aula del Futuro project, framed within their various regional training routes but with the common core on which the project is based: flexible learning spaces, the use of active methodologies, and the implementation of technology in the classroom.

These are some of the training events planned on this first quarter of the year 2025.
