The Power of Gaming in Education: Theory and Practice

In today's modern world, gaming has become an integral part of daily life for many. Gaming is not just entertainment; it is also a powerful educational tool. Digital games offer a platform for developing various skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication.

The difference between gaming and gamification is significant. Gaming refers to the use of digital games for learning and enjoyment, while gamification is the use of game elements in non-game environments, such as education, to motivate and increase engagement.

At the Ministry of Education, the Gaming R&D (Research and Development) team recognized the immense potential of gaming in education to advance students' competencies for their future careers. After a meticulous process that included a call for proposals and interviews, 70 schools applied, 50 advanced to the interview stage, and 15 schools from across the country were selected to participate in a development partnership initiative. The goal is to create integrated gaming programs that will enhance the learning experience and develop essential skills among students.
