UEF’s FCLab and EinrichtWerk Collaborate to Co-Create Innovative Learning Environments

Introduction

The University of Eastern Finland’s FCLab has partnered with FCL networks’ official partner EinrichtWerk to create a diverse learning space that support both students and teachers. We have created a space that fosters inclusive learning by offering a variety of learning zones, from quiet study areas to collaborative workspaces, and adaptable furniture to suit different learning styles.

Collaboration with EinrichtWerk

EinrichtWerk joins FCLab to design aesthetically pleasing and pedagogically sound spaces. The co-design process is participatory, considering both physical possibilities and future learning needs.

Steps in the Co-design Process

  1. Design team in Joensuu assesses space requirements.
  1. EinrichtWerk’s Sara collaborates with the team in Joensuu.
  1. Plans are reviewed and finalized online.
  1. Agreements on deliveries and implementation phases.
  1. Grand opening followed by further development.

The Future

The new environment enhances learning, collaboration, and creativity for students and teachers. FCLab and EinrichtWerk show that together, they can create future-ready learning spaces.
