From Strategy to Practice: The Year of the FCLab Finland

The FCLab.fi academic year began on 2–3 September 2025 in Joensuu, where teacher training schools set priorities: updating the action plan, implementing the new information strategy, advancing the Digital Competence Passport and Teacher’s AI Guide, and preparing the next learning environment publication.
Strategy in Action
The information strategy, adopted in August 2025, will be implemented across all training schools. The ICT group supports this with competence level charts, the Digital Competence Passport, the AI Guide, and a programming pathway, all to be further developed.
Year Highlights
Research and development will focus on flexible learning spaces, technology, and innovative pedagogy, with findings shared across the network. Units will rotate blog and social media content and join major events such as BETT, the ITK Conference, and the Spring Seminar in Oulu.
In spring 2026, the fifth volume of Developing Learning and Working Environments in Teacher Training Schools will be published, combining a collection of good practices and the final project report. All the ten Finnish labs will contribute to the publication.
